Lighting Guidelines

Lighting Template: _LT_InteriorAncestralTomb
Typical Decor
Exterior Entrance Variants: We have a handful of entrance designs tailored to different biomes, such as overgrown, ash-covered, or others, to match the environment.
Entrance Details: Scatter ash, leaves, or dirt near the door for added realism and atmosphere.
Skylight Accents: For tombs with skylights, incorporate ash, leaves, or dirt around the area to reflect natural decay.
Vampire Sunlight Effect: Ensure that vampire sunlight damage trigger boxes (_dun_int_Vamp_SunSpot) are placed beneath skylights or near openings
Traps and Puzzles
Ambushes
Ashpit Ambushes: Only skeletons (DLC1GroundAmbush01) and Ancestral Ghosts (WispAmbush) should emerge from ashpits.
Table, Alcove, Seated, and Hidden Room Ambushes: These areas can feature Bonewalkers or Skeletons (CreatureAlcoveBgMarker, CreatureSitMarker02, CreatureSitMarker03).
Haunted Urn Ambushes: Ancestral Ghosts, along with a small amount of treasure, can spawn from specific breakable urns (_Trap_VelothiUrn_Summon).
Puzzles
Offering Plate (_Dun_inter_offeringbasin): Requires the player to place a specific item on the offering plate to trigger an event, open a door or gate, advance further into the dungeon, or unlock access to hidden areas. Essentially a switch with a puzzle attached.
Traps: We have a small selection of traps designed for tombs. All of these are self-resetting and non-destructive to the tomb itself
Soul Gem Turrets
Spear Traps
False walls that release enemies
Dart Throwers
Flame, Lightning, and Frost Throwers
Magical Runes
Additionally, for temporary inhabitants like vampires or bandits, feel free to incorporate:
Bear Traps
Swinging Mace Traps
Avoid
Books to Avoid in Ancestral Tombs:
Vampires of Vvardenfell Vol. II: This is a quest-related book, intended to be a rare find with limited locations. If the tomb is a vanilla location for this book, leave it in place.
Corpse Preparation Books: These are not intended as guides for the Dunmer who would have managed the tomb. Instead, they are necromancy manuals that explicitly describe illegal practices.
The Lusty Argonian Maid: While humorous, at this point in the timeline, the only existing copy is in Crassius Curio's possession, as he is currently writing it.
Torture Chambers: Please remove any torture chambers found within tombs. While these tombs are designed to be eerie and dangerous to outsiders, they are ultimately sacred ground for the families they belong to, and a torture chamber contradicts that reverence. Exceptions can be made if the chamber originally served some other, normal purpose but was modified by vampires, bandits, or Daedra who have taken control of the tomb.Â
