Have you ever wanted to fill up a nice shelf with books, but don’t know off the top of your head which books make sense to use?? Have you ever woken up in a cold sweat remembering the time you used Corpse Preparation vol. II in that one velothi temple??? Fear not, for you've just found the solution!!
These are all books which can get Skywind-original, not in MW placements. I didn’t list books which shouldn’t get future placements; Hanin’s Wake, Guylaine’s Architecture, Nchunak’s Fire and Faith, etc. Lmk if I missed anything I shouldn’t have.
IMPORTANT: This is still WIP, make sure you read the attached comments for any books you are wanting to use
For filling up bookshelves, just be wary of Dunmeri script on some covers that non-Dunmer wouldn’t be able to read.
…for Barbarians series (ABCs for Barbarians, Geometry for Barbarians)

Reflections on Cult Worship
Spirit of Nirn, God of Mortals

These are common books which focus on magical, wizard-y, or esoteric subjects. They can be spread around, but magic focused characters especially would have these and commoners (or people with only one or two other books) are much less likely to possess them. Depending on the topic, some of them might also be odd for an observant Temple Dunmer to own.
Antecedents of Dwemer Law
Arcana Restored
Darkest Darkness
Fragment: On Artaeum
Galerion The Mystic
Mysticism
On Oblivion
Spirit of the Daedra
The Changed Ones

Note: Invocations of Azura is not Tribunal doctrine, should be used much much less
Typically near their respective faction, but can be spread around.

There are also a few other restrictions on otherwise fairly common books (see comments):
A Less Rude Song (IstunondesCosmology in CK)
Poison Song 1-7 (not owned by Tribunal Temple/conservative Dunmer)
The Pig Children (not owned by Orcs, or anyone not likely to be racist against Orcs)
The Real Barenziah 1-5 (not owned by Imperial officials, Imperial Cultists, or senior/conservative Dunmer)
The Madness of Pelagius
Do not place any skill books unless they were present in original Morrowind. This includes Mystery of Talara v5 which technically isn’t a skill book.
It goes without saying, other books marked as unique or rare should only be used where they are meant to. See original placements for books that appeared in Morrowind, particularly for the following, which should not be in levelled lists:
The Arcturian Heresy
Five Songs of King Wulfharth
The Brothers of Darkness
No-h’s Book of Wood
Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi
The following new books should also be marked as rare - 1-10 instances in the game apiece. (Some of these are skill books from later games or Tamriel Rebuilt that are not actually skill books in Skywind, but should still be treated similarly.)
A Just Punishment
Advances in Lockpicking
Before the Ages of Man
Cilicus' Manual of the Red Sword
Cowardice of the Enemy
De Rerum Dirennis
De Rerum Tempariorium (Imperial locations only)
A Nobleman's Garden (Ordinator locations only)
How to Treat Heretics (Ordinator locations only)
Legend of Krately House
Liminal Bridges
Mace Etiquette
Mannimarco, King of Worms
Orcsurance: A One-Act Comedy
Purloined Shadows
The Dreadful Theft of the Sun's Dusk Ale
The Lantern Thief
The Locked Cellar
The Refugees
Reven’s “Adventures of Eslaf Erol” series (Beggar, Thief, Warrior, King)
Two Stances on the Art of Knife-Fighting
Unarmed Traditions of Morrowind (MorrowindMartialArts in CK)
These can be used infrequently around redoran settlements and in bookstores/libraries. <5 uses each. Note that actual Velothi Dunmer and Ashlanders are illiterate and should not have these, see Nic(k)’s pin in #landscaping.
The Five Far Stars
Words of the Wind
Ashland Hymns
Should generally only be used in locations corresponding to their patron, or in certain rare bookstores/libraries. See comments.
Sixteen Accords of Madness
Invocations of Azura
Beggar Prince
Very rare, should be used only in Sixth House locations.
A Dreamer Awakens
Scrawled Chant (_BKTureynulal_6th_Chant_Note) (Any shrine)
Parchment with Scrawlings (_BK6thHouseRavings) (Already placed in OG Morrowind locations)
Scrawled Devotion (_BKTureynulal_6th_Prayer_Note01) (Max 1-3 times)
Scrawled Devotion (_BKTureynulal_6th_Prayer_Note02) (Max 1-3 times)
Scrawled Devotion (_BKTureynulal_6th_Prayer_Note03) (Max 1-3 times)
(Note that all others should be unique)
Place these only in necromancer/evil wizard/vampire locations, or in certain libraries, or Jobasha’s. Corpse Preparation should NOT be used in any old temple or tomb.
Corpse Preparation 1-3
Immortal Blood
Legions of the Dead
N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!
Arkay the Enemy
Can be used infrequently in taverns and bookstores
Balladeer’s Fakebook
Drunken Aphorisms (rare, only 1-2 bar placements)
‘Invocation of Azura’ and ‘Vivec and Mephala’ should be used MUCH less. They are not Tribunal doctrine
The Guardian and the Traitor should probably be removed and saved for Bloodmoon, that is if we decide we want to include Mirak lore at all. I’m personally in favor of nodding towards that lore but it would definitely offend some Morrowind purists out there.
Alchemist's Formulary is a rare and expensive book that also serves as a quest reward. It should get the RARE marker and only be used where it was in base MW
Green Puzzle Compendium needs placements decided. Fury suggested 2-3 placements which I think is good. I’d match with the other puzzle books and give them to vendors or other public spaces
